Fighting your own battle…

Life is nothing but a battlefield; every now and then we are busy fighting the battle of our life. There is not even a single person in this world who can say that they don’t have any such battle to fight in their life. The situation and the magnitude of everyone’s battle may differ but there is no one who has nothing to fight for. Well that’s life, which is indeed spicy and beautiful. I wonder often what if those battle’s never existed, what if we all are freed from our problems, what if we get to live a life which has everything in its right places and nothing to worry about. How it would be like then? Tasteless, isn’t it?

I also wonder sometimes that how everything in this world is so nicely organized, so well balanced. Whatever happens there exist a reason behind them. Even though the change might be very small but it has got its own values. When we face problems in our life, we often get too worked up and keep on sulking in life. And then end up blaming others, telling them that “they can’t understand you because they aren’t in their place” but does that mean you are the only one who is facing problems in life, as if you are the only person left in this world with issues. People say whoever has experienced a lot they have a different perspective from others. That’s quite true. When we learn from our experiences, we become more and more cautious. We become more and more insecure in search of a secured life. We start playing safe, always try to avoid complications in life. Perhaps doing this is wise but sometime all we need to do is let ourselves go and have a carefree attitude towards life. Sometimes we must break the cage in which we have been living our life from such a long time. When you succeed in doing so we are headed towards your destination.

Everyone have got their own battle to fight, it is the destiny of every people of this world. Some are fighting with others, while some are fighting with themselves. Stop living your life in a cage. That might just stop you to reach where you always wanted to reach in life. To do this you need no strategy, no planning. All you need to have is an attitude to take risks in life, the will to listen to your heart, the courage to face failures that you will meet in your way, the kindness to treat others well and the self-belief that no matter what happens, how tough it gets you are going to make it, you will reach where you always wanted to reach and there is nothing stopping you, there nothing coming in your way.

The Turtle Walk!!!

Friday night, we decided to go for turtle walk. Turtle walk is an event which is organized by the aquatic department for the conservation of turtle eggs. Basically it’s a three months drive in which they cover a certain distance of beach in whole night and try finding the nest of a turtle, if there’s egg in those nests then they make sure those eggs are kept safely in the hatchery. The drive was good and so was the walk. Although it was damn tiring, we covered almost the distance of 10 km that night. Initially I thought it won’t be that tiring as I am habituated to walk. But I forgot that there is a huge difference in walking on road when compared to walking on sand. We reached the spot at around 11pm at night. The drive kicked off after half an hour. There were many others also apart from our college group, so they divided us into two groups and assigned few scouts with both the groups. The drive started with the introduction of the turtle walk, the reason behind it and what we are gonna do tonight. It was very informative I must say, I was not aware of many such things about turtles. I didn’t know the fact that each turtle lays around 50-180 eggs and out of which the ratio of turtles surviving is negligible. Out of almost 1000 turtles which are born the probability of surviving till their adulthood is only 1 out of 1000. I was shocked, I asked my friends about it. And then they told me that as soon as turtles come out of their egg all they want to do is jump into the sea. They are very desperate to move into the sea. When the female turtle comes to the beach and lays egg, she goes back to the ocean without giving a thought about those eggs future. They are born to become independent. So they don’t need any guidance, they don’t need anyone else. As soon as they come out from their nest they jump into the ocean and most of them are dead then and there. Because they are too small, they are often eaten by the dogs, crabs, fishes and humans.

According to the law of nature, turtles are born to balance the food chain for many other creatures. There are some kinds of fishes who live on turtles. And many other creatures. I was shocked to know all this, just imagine that you are born to be eaten by someone. I had a series of doubts, that we know they will die as soon as they come out of from their egg then why can’t we keep them in a protected area and when they are grown up we can leave them into the sea. And the answer to this question was, they are born to become independent. They know how to deal with their life and so if we interfere in that then they will lose their will power and become dependent. I had just one thought after that, what a creature!!!

The main reason why turtles are also on the verge of getting extinct is Poaching and overfishing. These are major issues that we should discourage. What actually happens in overfishing is, the machine catches those fishes also which are not use for trading, so if that machine have those kinds of fishes then they are thrown after a while into the sea. Till that time they are dead. And sometimes even turtles become the victim of that machine and eventually even they die. We can use the traditional form of fishing here, because fishermen knows what they are supposed to catch and not. But the machine won’t know anything about it.

The main thing is we have come too far and now we can’t go back. Our resources are degrading day by day; many creatures are getting extinct which will directly affect the food chain in turn unbalancing the law of nature. And when the law of nature is not satisfied then that day the earth will wipe us out. I believe in a theory behind when and how the world will come to an end. When we will reach that point where earth will have nothing to offer us in terms of resources and when we will break the law of nature then that day the earth will wipe us out forever. Like how dinosaurs became the victim of extinction. Same way we will be passing through that phase someday. Everything in this world is so balanced that they have cure for everything. One civilization goes and after several years a new one always starts. So someday this world which was created by nature but destroyed by humans will come to an end and after another hundreds of years later a new one will start. That’s the theory I believe in. But it’s not possible for us to attain equilibrium now. We have destroyed so much here that whatever we do in the name of conservation, it won’t help at all. It will just give us few more years to live on.

So after the discussion we started walking. It seemed exciting in the beginning but then after a while it started taking a toll on every one of us. But we kept on walking, enjoying the sea breeze and walking along the sea shore with a bunch of people. We saw many crabs, dead fishes, snakes on our way to find the turtle nest. And after walking for almost 10 km finally we found one such nest which had like 82 fresh eggs. The scout told us that those eggs were laid just one hour ago. We checked the eggs, the nest kept the eggs safely in cotton bag and went to the hatchery where they are kept safely. When the walk was over I checked my watch, it was 4:45am. We started walking at around 1:30am. We were tired but the experience was somewhat different and new. We have never walked so much; we saw many new things which exist in this world. We came across many different feelings after spotting so many dead fishes along the shore. Overall it was one nice experience; we sat there for a while and then decided to see the sunrise before heading home. And that scene was magical; all you could see is sun popping up from the sea as if it’s coming out from the sea actually. It seemed nice and fresh and when we were leaving we realized how much our body was aching and all we needed was a nice sound sleep.

You have a dream, you gotta protect it!!!

Almost 80% of the world’s population have no clue what they are doing with their life, no clue what they want from their life and no idea regarding their ultimate aim of life. They are just going with the flow, running with the crowd just to ensure that they have sufficient to lead a normal life. But there are some different kind of people in this world, who wants to try out different things in life, for them there exists no such thing called a normal life. Those people have a dream, and they are willing to do anything to achieve their dream. They are willing to take risks, get up every time after they fall but never give up on their dream. But in a country like ours especially, it’s quite tough for anyone to dream. And for a person who comes from a middle class family, it’s damn tough to achieve it. Every people around them will show no support, all they would do is suppress them with their idea of living a life.

If you turn back the pages, most of the people who are some renowned personality now, who are legends now went through the same phases. They faced a series of failures in their life, their will was almost shattered by the people around them but they never gave up. They kept on working for their dream. And when that day arrived in their life, when they succeeded in living their dream, it changed the whole dynamics of the field they went into, the way how people use to look at them was no more the same.

I have learnt a fact about people, when things are going smoothly in your life, everyone around you will be showering their praises and compliments upon you. And when suddenly things start going wrong in your life, you won’t find anyone then who would even try to understand what is going on in your head. There won’t be any support coming from anywhere. I don’t understand this theory, to support people only during their highs and make their life living hell during their lows. If you can’t be a part of someone’s failure, you can never be a part of their success. Failures are a part of life, without which you will never taste success. Whoever has tasted success in their life, they have been through a series of failures. Perhaps that’s the reason why many people back out even when they are only one step behind from achieving their dream.

In the walk of your life, if you have a dream then you must walk that path alone. You must take your own stand, and fight for your dream. You must pay its price, no matter how tough it gets; all you need to do is keep on moving ahead. Smile at all your failures because one day you are going to narrate those stories to people, because you are going to inspire many others by doing what you are good at.

It’s tough to live your dream but it’s not impossible. There might be a slight delay in that, but when it will happen there won’t be anything stopping you.

“You have a dream, you gotta protect it. Don’t let anyone say you can’t do something.”

Wisdom Tree…

I was sitting on platform number one, at Bangalore Cantonment Station and to my surprise the platform was a deserted place even in the broad daylight. My train was an hour late and I had no other choice than to sit there all alone. I was getting bored, also I forgot to charge my iPod and even the time was passing by at snail’s pace. So I started doing what I am good at, I started observing my surrounding. Whenever I am alone or sometimes even with people my mind is always busy observing something, in search of some story or something unusual about which people don’t care in their busy life. Forget about something unusual, these days people don’t have time to even reflect on their life. They will waste their time stalking someone’s profile on Facebook; nevertheless they will take some time out and reflect on their life. They are always unaware of the fact that there are so many little things which happens around us but they are always being ignored or never noticed at all.

So I was all alone on the platform and I had to do something to pass my time. And what I saw in the next twenty minutes of my life filled my heart with immense joy and happiness. It was something I have never seen in my life ever before, something which we never see in our busy life. For some people this might not be much of a use because there are some people who do things only because they will get something in return. No one wants to spend their time on something which will give only happiness in return. They call it a waste of time. For those people I feel sorry and this blog is not for them.

There were rice grains lying on the floor and pigeons started coming out from somewhere and gathered around the grains. They started picking them up as fast as they could, filling their beaks full of grains. And then there was this one fat ass pigeon in the middle that started fighting with other pigeons. To my surprise that one pigeon was enough for the other six pigeons. He did not let anyone to pick any grains, and he was standing in the middle all alone picking up the grains all by himself. And if some pigeon tried to come near him and pick some grains, immediately he will run towards them and hit them. They had no other choice than to stand and watch him take all the grains. This continued for a while until another pigeon came from somewhere again, stood in front of that fat ass pigeon looked into his eyes and pushed him out of the crowd.

And now this new pigeon started doing the same thing with the rest of the pigeons left. It seemed as if the new pigeon was some big shot of that area who couldn’t tolerate the fact that some other pigeon was trying to rule over in his area. I was enjoying the show and I was the only audience there to record the fight between pigeons. Never before in my life have I ever seen eight pigeons fighting with each other for food.
And then what came next was the best example of team work I could ever give to anyone. The fight was between seven pigeon versus a lone ranger. Those seven pigeons teamed up and decided to take on the lone ranger together. They divided into the teams of two and gathered around the rice grains from every side. At one point, one team will go and hit the lone ranger while the other teams from other side would go and pick up the grains. By the time the lone ranger could realize it was already too late for him and then again he got hit from the other side. This continued until there were no grains left on the floor and the lone ranger was left perplexed and trolled. And those seven pigeons flew away after filling up their beak with grains. I don’t know whether they distributed the grains among themselves or not. But that sight was amazingly beautiful and it happened at the right time when I was alone and the only audience to witness their show. I was still in the awe of that moment.

When you are alone you often tend to witness the beauty of nature. And it is so true. In the daily hustling bustling of our life, we often ignore even if we see something very unusual. But I feel good about myself that I am not among those people who ignore things instead I always record in the back of my head all those moments and share with the people on my blog. There is always a chance of learning from every creature of this world. After a while I boarded the train, took my seat and then it clicked in my head, why the platform was empty all this while so that I could see what I have never seen in my life before, so that I could witness the beauty of nature, so that I can reflect upon it, so that I can write about it and share it with the world.
